The Basics

What are the opening hours?

The Budgie is open on Thursdays from 5-10pm, Fridays from 4.30pm-12am, Satrudays from 1pm-12am and Sundays from 1pm-7pm.

Are you open on public holidays?

Public holidays openings at The Budgie are a case-by-case situation. Keep a close eye on our socials for any updates regarding any upcoming public holidays and other special opening days.

How do I find The Budgie?

You can find us at 1/166 Maroondah Highway in Ringwood, 3134. Its right off the Eastlink / Ringwood bypass and neighbouring Ringwood Lake. You can just search for ‘The Budgie Bar’ in your maps app and it should bring you straight to our door.

How do I book a table?

You can book a table straight through our website from the ‘Book a Table‘ page. There, you can also find more info on some of our other experiences you might like to enjoy while you’re here.

What is the max party size?

You can book for tables up to 12 people straight through the website. If you’re looking to reserve something for a bigger party, definitely reach out to us via email at, events@thebudgiesmuggler.com and we’ll see if we can accommodate.

Can I come as a walk-in?

Although booking ahead is recommended, we love walk-ins at The Budgie. Stop by the front desk on your way in and the staff member should be able to find a spot for you in the venue.

How long can I stay?

A sitting at The Budgie is 2-hours long. If you’d like to stay for longer once your sitting is complete, have a chat to the host to see if they can find another spot for you. Looking to stay at the venue all day? Email the team the week before at, events@thebudgiesmuggler.com

Do you have parking?

We do have limited parking available on-site at The Budgie. The spots usually fill up quickly so I likely wouldn’t depend on being able to find a spot close by. Definitely get an Uber/Taxi if you want to be safe!

Can I come just for Lunch / Dinner?

With Hecho En Mexico in the kitchen, you can most definitely join us at The Budgie for your daily main meals. A booking is recommended as they are generally some of our busiest times.

Can I order at the bar?

You certainly can order at the bar. The Budgie runs a hybrid bar/QR code service for both food and drink so you can approach your ordering however you like.

How do I book an entire space?

We can definitely accommodate the booking of an entire space at The Budgie. Whether is be the Showroom, or The Budgie Bar, or even the entire venue. You can read more about our space and make an enquiry through our ‘Spaces‘ page and the team will get back to you ASAP!

Can my children come to the venue?

The Budgie is a bar – and while it isn’t strictly for patrons over the age of 18, we don’t currently offer any child-friendly food, services or seating.

Can I bring my dog to the venue?

You can, but only on Sundays. The Budgie’s beer garden for the Summer Sunday Sessions are fur-family-friendly. Please make sure that they are well socialised, on their leash and are well behaved during their visit.

Where can I find what live music is playing?

You can find all the info about our upcoming live music + djs on our ‘Whats On’ page. You can also find out about any of our current promotions and offers there as well.

Is there a happy hour?

Technically, YES! For the early birds, if you pop in between the hours of 4.30-6.30pm on a Friday after work, you can enjoy all of the half priced drinks you like.

Do you have specials?

We sure do! Every month, the bartending team at The Budgie put forth their latest cocktail creations to see if any of them have what it takes to make it onto the full menu. There are also monthly specials for beer, spirits and wine. You can find this months specials on our ‘Menu‘ page.

Can I see the car collection?

The classic car collection is on display in the showroom in the middle of the venue. Its a look but definitely don’t touch set-up. You are welcome to visit to showroom regardless of where you book in the venue.

Where is the cactus photo area?

Patrons are more than welcome to visit our Palm Springs-inspired selfie room, Cacti Corner. It is located next to the main bar in warehouse at The Budgie. It’s available from Thursday-Sunday for snaps.

What is the dress code?

Classy and smart dress is required for entry. No workwear, steel capped boots, hoodies, caps or activewear.

Experiences

When are the Bottomless Cocktail sessions?

The Budgie’s bottomless cocktail sessions run every Saturday from 1.30-3.30pm as well as 4-6pm. These sessions are pre-booked and pre-paid online –  you can grab a table for you in your friends from our ‘Book a Table‘ page.

How do I book a Bottomless Cocktails session?

Head straight to our ‘Book a Table‘ page and go to the ‘Bottomless Cocktails’ section. There, you’ll find some more info about the experience and an easy walkthrough on how to book. For groups over 12, shoot an email to, events@thebudgiesmuggler.com to assist with the booking.

Someone in my group isn't drinking, can they come?

They sure can! When you arrive for your Bottomless Cocktails session, The Budgie team will hand out wristbands for all those taking part in the Bottomless session. Those without wristbands can order food and drink straight from the regular menu if they please.

Can I have Bottomless Cocktails outside the session times?

Bottomless cocktail sessions only run at The Budgie in the allocated time slots. The experience is not available at any other time.

What is included in Bottomless Cocktails?

During a session, you’ll have a selection of cocktails available for you to order throughout your stay. You can also choose a food item from a select menu to accompany your cocktails. You can check out the current menu on our ‘Book a Table‘ page or ‘Menu‘ page.

When is Trivia? Is it free?

Trivia is completely FREE! Our friends from Quiz Meisters join us every Thursday night from 6.30pm in the Budgie Bar. The questions + answers usually go for a few hours and wrap up around 9-9.30pm. There are a bunch of prizes to be won throughout the night and some grand prizes for top teams.

What are the Trivia specials?

During your night of Trivia at The Budgie, you are welcome to partake in some of our delicious $12 cocktail specials on the night. You can check out the latest Thursday night cocktail specials on our ‘Book a Table‘ page in the Trivia section.

Do I have to do an experience to be able to book at those times?

The Bottomless & Trivia experiences aren’t the only thing you can do during those times at The Budgie. You are more than welcome to join us during those session times to just have a drink and bite to eat elsewhere in the venue.

Bottled Cocktails

What are the Bottled Cocktails?

Budgie Bottled Cocktails are a selection of our past, present and future cocktails in glass bottles for people to enjoy from home and all over the country. The brand also creates other cocktail-related paraphernalia for your home bar.

Where can I get Bottled Cocktails?

You can visit the dedicated ‘Budgie Store‘ to learn more about Budgie Bottled cocktails and read more about the bottles.

Can I get Bottled Cocktails delivered?

Through The Budgie Store, cocktails can be sent and delivered Australia-wide. Locals can enjoy a special next business day hand delivery service as well as Click & Collect from Monday-Friday.

Do you make customised Bottled Cocktails?

We sure do! Whether it be for a special party, or a corporate event, or for a wedding place setting – Budgie Bottled Cocktails can completely customise any of our existing bottled cocktail labels to suit your desired aesthetic. Can I get Bottled Cocktails from the venue?

There is a small gift shop-style set up as a part of the entrance to the warehouse at The Budgie. There, you can get a feel for the cocktails as well as browse some of the other home bar must-haves. Talk to the front desk to see what cocktail flavours we have in store for you to take away.

What's the difference between Signature and Premium Cocktails?

Other than the labels, and although all of our cocktails use the highest quality ingredients, the main difference is the recipes. The Premium Series is chock full of top shelf ingredients while the Signature Series contains some more approachable spirits.
